DETAILED TOUR DESCRIPTION
Get picked up at your hotel and depart towards Cabo de Santa Maria Shipwreck, where an old boat has been stranded for 50 years becoming a symbol and a source of inspiration for local painters and photographers. The tour follows towards Viana Desert, from where you will marvel at the sand-forming dunes brought from the Sahara Desert to the island by the wind over many years.
Leaving the desert the tour proceeds towards Povoação Velha, the right place to meet locals and get to know the atmosphere of the oldest settlement on the island. Flanking the coast with a wonderful panorama and views, discover the wonders and secrets carved behind the Varandinha limestone caves, formed naturally by the erosion of the sea in the dunes.
Take a break for a delicious lunch at a local restaurant and then cool off with a dip in Santa Monica Beach, considered the most beautiful beach of the archipelago and one of the most beautiful beaches in the world.
After you will then head to Morro de Area to arrive at the last spot, Chaves beach. The tour concludes with a drop-off at your accommodation.
