SHORT PACKAGE DESCRIPTION
Reach Cape Verde's highest mountain, Fogo Volcano, and the third highest mountain in the Atlantic Ocean. Visit Chã das Caldeiras National Park, coffee plantation, Salina's natural pool, and taste one of the best wine in the world.
Day 1: Fogo: Arrival & Half-day São Filipe Experience with local coffee tasting
Get picked up from your accommodation, airport, or harbor in São Filipe, the island's capital, and head towards the city center. There explore “Sobrados” by walking from the main square and wandering around this charming little town lined with colorful colonial houses.
Next, head to the small Municipal Museum and appreciate the simplicity of the objects that portray the local history. At the local market, mingle with locals and admire the vibrant colors of the local fruits and vegetables there. After that, take a break for the well-deserved lunch in a local atmosphere and taste the local coffee, 100% organic, well known worldwide, and recognized with a gold medal as one of the best in the world.
Its introduction on the island of Fogo occurred in the 18th century in the municipality of Mosteiros. The tour concludes with a drop-off at your accommodation.

Day 2: Fogo: Full island Perimeter tour & Dip into a Natural Pool + 30 min Ferry Fogo - Brava
Get picked up from your accommodation or airport in Fogo and then head to the eastern coast to reach the village of Cova Figueira.
After a sightseeing city tour, drive northwards to the village of Mosteiros and stroll up the lava flows created by the 1951 eruption, a succession of jagged, dark intrusions on the landscape. Visit its viewpoint and take beautiful pictures of the houses carved over the sea, creating a unique contrast that makes you never want to leave there.
After a delicious lunch in a local atmosphere, move on to Salinas de São José, and if the weather allows, enjoy a dip into its natural pool, one of the best bathing spots on the island. There, breathe the fresh and clean air, with incredible landscapes and views of the surroundings. Mingle with locals and have the opportunity to watch fishermen returning to shore with the day’s catch. Finally, visit the largest and oldest tree on the island and deepen your knowledge of the local flora.
The tour ends with the disembarkation at São Filipe. Enjoy free time according to the ferry scheduled time, then be picked up in São Filipe and depart towards the Harbour. Enjoy a 30-minute ferry trip from Fogo to Brava. Arrival and transfer to Nova Sintra. Hotel Check-in.

Day 3: Brava Island: The Routes of "Morna" with Locals
Get picked up at your accommodation, then depart toward Nova Sintra. Make your first stop at Eugénio Tavares main square, and learn about the history of Morna, a Cape Verdean musical genre internationalized by Cesária Évora and considered Cultural Heritage of Humanity. Take pictures of empty colonial houses waiting for the return of the "Americanos" who have built them for their retirement. Next, drive through the pretty village of Cova Rodela and reach Mato Grande Village.
There, visit Miradouro and enjoy a stunning view looking out over Nova Sintra towards Fogo Island. Your tour progresses to Mato, from where you will see Fontainhas Mountain, the highest peak on the island. After that, head to Cachaço Village and have a chance to see local goat's cheese production, which the tiny production is usually exported to Santiago Island.
Then, head to the west of Brava and reach Lomba in Tantum, a fishing village where locals go when they want to buy some fresh fish. If sea conditions permit, take a break and swim in the beautiful warm natural pools of at Fajã D'Água. At lunch, enjoy the peaceful atmosphere of the city and taste some local delights in a typical restaurant. The tour finishes with a drop-off back to your accommodation.

Day 4: Ferry Trip to Fogo + Half-day Tour & Volcano Discovery – Check-in in Chã das Caldeiras
Get picked up from your accommodation in Brava and depart towards the harbor. Enjoy a 30-minute ferry trip from Brava to Fogo. Arrive and transfer in Fogo and head inland to the small villages of Achada Furna and Cabeça Fundão.
There, learn about the history of the residents who had their houses submerged by the lava from the recent volcanic eruption of 2014. Arrive at Chã das Caldeiras National Park and admire uninterrupted views of the volcano and rugged surrounding landscape. Marvel with an amazing view from the foot of Cape Verde's highest mountain, the active volcano, one of the best attractions in the country.
After that, take a break for a well-deserved lunch in a local atmosphere and buy or taste at your expense one of the best wines in the world. Next, have the opportunity to see a coffee plantation on the perimeter of Monte Velha, an area of fertile mountains and microclimates. Finally, get the drive to the village of Forno, and visit local farmers with their agricultural fields. The tour concludes with a drop-off at your accommodation in Chã das Caldeiras.

Day 5: Full Volcano Hiking from Chã das Caldeiras
Get picked up at your accommodation in Chã das Caldeiras and walk with your guide until reaching the foot of the Volcano. From there, marvel with the regular view of its active volcanic cone, where the last eruption occurred in 2014. The volcano's surroundings are deep black, composed of lava and lush green vegetation. Follow the tour through figs, vines, apple and pear trees, as well as mustard plants. Start the climb and let your local guide adjust the rate of climbing according to your skills.
After 3 hours, reach the highest peak in Cape Verde. From Pico do Fogo, the third highest mountain in the Atlantic Ocean, with 2829 meters of altitude, enjoy one of the steepest and most spectacular volcanic cones in the world. After that, take a break for the well-deserved picnic, contemplate an unforgettable 360-degree panoramic view over the entire island of Fogo and start the fun part of the day. Take a walk through the crater and feel the sensation of touching the sky above the clouds.
Then, start descending the steep descent of ash for half an hour, sinking your knee-high in Lapilli, a lifetime experience. After doing one of the best things to do in Cape Verde, the tour concludes with a drop-off at your accommodation in Chã das Caldeiras.
